ABOUT ME
About Me
Hi Gorgeous, My Name is Robin!
I could tell you that I am a wife, mom of 2 and a dog lover, and that I love iced white mochas, but I feel like that's not what you came for.
I want you to get to know the REAL me.
From a young age, I have always felt like I was weird and different.
When I moved to the United States at the age of 12, I was hopeful that I would meet new friends- after all, at my school in the Philippines, I felt completely out of place. I had shrugged it off as a result of me being half American in a school where almost no one looked like me. I was hopeful that once I moved to the US everything would change. Boy was I wrong.
In the US, I was somehow even more foreign. Combining my usual weirdness with puberty, AND having to re-learn every social cue I had ever known, mixed with a new culture, I felt more out of place than ever. I had to get over SO MUCH of the feeling of being different. I spent a lot of time daydreaming and drawing in all my notebooks. Eventually, I found a ragtag group of weird American friends just like the ones I saw on American TV shows growing up. I found out that I was really good at Art, particularly drawing and painting. My friends and I also loved theater and the performing arts, which allowed me to get really good at makeup and tap into my drama side.
My mom sent my sister and I halfway across the world so that we could build a better future, so I did my best and excelled in school and in my extracurriculars. I knew that my family couldn't afford to pay for my higher education and I would have to put myself through college with scholarships. Thankfully I achieved my goal and received enough scholarships to get a degree in Fine arts from the University of Oregon where I studied many different art mediums and also minored in Art History.
After graduating, I spent years doing restaurant work, even ending up as a manager at several Red Robin locations. Meanwhile doing a dozen different artistic side hustles including chalkboard art for cafes, commissioned dog portraits, event and bridal makeup, screen printing, furniture refurbishing, logo design, soap making, you name it.
Photography was just supposed to be another item on that list, but fate had other plans.
After my first boudoir photoshoot, I felt like I had found my calling.
It was a mixture of everything that I loved and have been training in for years. My particular background allows me to be good at staging sets, image composition, lighting techniques, color theory, photography, composition, makeup, art, art history, and most importantly, it taught me to be very sensitive to people and to help people come out of their shell.
I finally feel like there's an area of my life where I fit in perfectly, because I have built something amazing around myself and my skills that I am super proud of-- and that is BABE Boudoir!
But enough about myself, I want to learn all about you! What brought you here to my website? Chat with me!
